A brief introduction to “Global Kowtow Prayer”

Pray for what?

Sincerely pray for
1. people’s happiness and self-improvement
2. thoughts to be communicated and integrated
3. human society to be on virtuous cycle of development

How to pray?

Pray on road 999 times. Each time walk 3 steps and then kneel down to pray with forehead touching on the earth.

Walk three steps.
Kneel down on the ground.
Touch the Earth with forehead.
Forehead
hands
Knees were torn.

What’s the plan?

The total praying distance is the average Earth radius which is about 6372 kilometers. Since each place praying 999 times which is about 3 kilometers, it is supposed to pray in 2124 cities which cover all cities in the world with a population of over 300,000, all capital cities of countries and regions, world famous university towns and some other well-known cities and places.

It is planned to pray in 100 cities per year. Each city will stay for 3 days, the first day to arrive, the second day to find a road for praying, the third day to pray. The whole activity will take 22 years to complete.

Why pray?

Human society has big problems, yet having unprecedented opportunity to solve them.

We are having better things like better smart phone, better car, better road and other betters. But if we are not making human beings ourselves better, all other betters just don’t make sense.

We are pursuing economy growth and higher technology. We see democracy and rule of law universal value. We make all these things our final goals, but they are not.

The fundamental goal of human being is happiness and self-improvement. This is one thing like a paper with two sides. All other things such as country, democracy, economy and technology are just tools or methods to achieve it. These things are very much important for us, but they have to serve the fundamental goal, not to impair it.

Kahlil Gibran said: “We already walked too far, down to we had forgotten why embarked.” He is right.

Who is the person praying?

Rudolph Xiaodong Nie, a Chinese living in Canada. Graduated from Peking University with a Master of Law degree, Mr. Nie published a book “Weilu” which means “sitting around a fire” in Taiwan in 2017. He introduced core value of Chinese traditional culture, analyzed fundamental problems of human society, suggested solutions for future Intellectual Civilization.
